What is “TMD”?
Eliminate Jaw Pain
and Headaches!
Connecting the lower jaw to the skull, TMJ is an
important joint that causes disorders for millions. Using the most advanced treatments available, our practice can help relieve:
- Jaw, neck and shoulder pain
- Facial swelling
- Pain or ringing in your ears
- Headaches and nausea
TMD, or temporomandibular dysfunction is a group of illnesses, which affect the temporomandibular joint,
as well as the associated muscles of the jaw, face and neck and related neurological and vascular
structures. Problems with your jaw joint can produce many symptoms, that do not appear to be
related to the joint.
Dr. Debora Klein has 26 years of experience in treating TMJ, Jaw Pain, Headaches, and Cranio-Facial Pain.
What are the symptoms?
The symptoms of TMD can include one or more of the following:
- Headaches over the eye, in the temples, behind the eyes, and at the base of the skull
- Generalized face pain as well as more specific pain directly in front of the ears
- Ear symptoms including ringing, buzzing, congestion and pain
- Neck and shoulder pain as well as clicking or grating noises of the joint
- Locking or pain in the joint itself
- Grinding your teeth at night and your teeth are worn down, or they do not touch when you bite together
“I choose Dr. Debora Klein for my patients because of her extraordinary ability to diagnose and treat cranio-facial pain with an integrative approach.”
—Bernadette Goheen Kohn, D.O., Neuromuscular Medicine Board Certified, McHenry
